That is why you need a vacuum cleaner especially made for pet hairs. Shark co. is superior in this sector. Let’s delve into the best shark vacuums for pet hair precisely isolated from the others.

It can be difficult to narrow down the best shark for pet hair from a long line-up of shark vacuum cleaners. The manufacturer company Shark, however, has made vacuum cleaners specially designed for pet hairs.

They are listed under the shark vacuum cleaner series ‘Shark true pet’ or ‘Shark pet perfect.’

Different shark upright vacuum cleaners are under the ‘true pet’ series, and lightweight handheld vacuum cleaners made for directly applying upon pet hair are under the ‘pet perfect’ series.

The thing is, some more vacuum cleaners perform exceptionally well whenever pet hairs are considered.

I have been in the world of vacuum cleaners for quite some time, and within this period, I have pinpointed some other shark vacuum cleaners that are not listed as pet hair specialist vacuum cleaners by Shark Co. but do great picking pet hair up. They are also enlisted here.

Things to look out for in a pet-friendly vacuum cleaner

You will need to look for stronger suction, brush-type roller cleaner head; if you want your vacuum cleaner to carry out pet hairs efficiently. And a bit heavy (for carpeted surfaces, can be omitted if excessive weight is a problem)

It’d be great if the brush roller were motorized, And a light if places that require regular vacuuming lack light.

Pet hairs can be deceptive; if not seen the location of pet hairs properly, chances are some might be left behind, not vacuumed.

Moreover, it will make the work easy to a great extent whenever you try to remove pet hair from stairs or other congested places like that.

Another thing is filtration is important here. Bagged or bagless, It’d be really good if the provided bag or filters, respectively – could block tiny dust particles and allergens sized down to 1 micron.

HEPA filters will help you in this criteria; look for HEPA standard filtration in your vacuum cleaner.

Best Shark Vacuum For Pet Hair

Best Shark Vacuums For Pet Hair – Reviewed (In-DEPTH Updated Guide 2022)

1) Shark Rotator TruePet Powered Lift-Away NV752

Shark Rotator TruePet (NV752)

Without any hesitation, this Shark True pet NV752 is the best-selling vacuum cleaner among all the vacuum cleaners that will be discussed here. People say great things about this vacuum cleaner on different online marketplaces like Amazon, Kohl’s, etc.

There is a reason that it is featured first here. And for that reason, it is undoubtedly the best.

Shark vacuum for pet hair. Not only for pet hair but for overall performances. If you are in a hurry and won’t mind a little extra weight and money, this is your pick.

However, it is still priced under most cordless vacuum cleaners. It won’t break your wallet.

During my period of vacuum cleaner review, I have always suggested this vacuum cleaner along with some Dyson models, and those who bought this extraordinary vacuum cleaner, according to my suggestion, never heard one of them regretting the purchase.

And whenever you consider pet hair especially, it is the best shark pet vacuum cleaner.

Let’s dissect the features and performance of the Shark Rotator NV752 Vacuum Cleaner. Why is it mentioned first here, and why does it stay ahead of the other vacuum cleaners?

Suction power

The very first impressive thing is the conveniences it offers, along with the very strong suction power.

If the term ‘powered’ is mentioned in the title of a shark vacuum cleaner, this means the vacuum cleaner has a stronger suction power.

Strong suction power is a must for efficiently picking pet hair up. As a result, this vacuum cleaner does exceptionally well in picking up pet hair.

There are two motors here. Combined with both, a very strong power is created that pet hairs can’t refuse and get sucked very easily.

Dyson is known for creating the most suction power in the world of vacuuming machines. The suction power of Shark NV752 is measured at 24 Kilo-pascal, which is very close to the Dyson motor’s suction power of 26 kPa.

Our friend Nigel Russco made a thorough suction power comparison of this vacuum and the Dyson dc65 and LG luv250c.

He included the LG vacuum cleaner to highlight the lack of an average vacuum cleaner. The suction power of the LG vacuum cleaner was measured at 9.5 kPa.

The suction power of this Shark Rotator TruePet Powered Lift-Away NV752 touches the best suction power-containing vacuum cleaners in the world, and it is more than necessary to deal with pet hairs.

Brushroll

The second thing I mentioned earlier in this article for effectiveness in pet hair – is brush roll. Only strong suction power is enough to pick pet hair up from hardwood floors, but it is not enough to remove pet hairs from carpets.

Shark Rotator TruePet Powered Lift-Away NV752 has a hard bristled brush roll inside the cleaner head. That makes this a great performer whenever pet hair comes into the scenario.

Moreover, the brush roll is motorized. This means the brushroll itself spins all by itself. The average vacuum cleaner brushroll does not have a motor installed with it. They spin with the aid of vacuum suction.

The pet hairs must have been spun and separated from the carpet by the agitation of the hard bristled brush first.

Only then can it be sucked by the vacuuming system from the carpet.

Otherwise, the pet hairs will remain persistent on the carpet. Pet hairs get stuck on carpets easily, and strong suction power itself won’t be able to pick it up.

And if the carpet is a high-piled one, pet hairs are more likely to be fixed with the carpet. A Hard bristled brush roller comes in very handy in this context.

Here, the brushroll is self-propelled, which is why it never stops spinning and never stops getting all the pet hairs lying around.

Upholstery pet hair solution

There is a big ‘if’ left behind. What if you own carpeted stairs in your home? Or comfy couches, which also seem to be very comfy for your pets too.

Lots of pet hair on the sofa; you just cannot lift the whole vacuum cleaner wand up along with its’ wide cleaner head. A small but powerful pet attachment is required here.

There are a motorized mini pet vacuuming attachment called ‘TruePet Motorized Brush’ and a pet-multi tool available with a Shark NV752 vacuum cleaner.

The trumpet motorized brush is a real deal, as I have seen it in action. It is a mini cleaner head that can be attached to the hose of a Shark NV752 vacuum cleaner.

There is a tiny hard bristle brush inside it, and it is also self-propelled. A 1200-watt motor powers this tiny bristle brushroll. 1200 watts is pretty powerful, counting the size of the brushroll, I’d say.

It enables the brushroll to spin strong enough to agitate the surface where the vacuuming is applied.

There’s another attachment named pet-multi tool available here for pet hairs that are not stuck strongly.

If you feel that pet hairs are not stuck on your couch, you can just attach the pet-multi tool instead of the trumpet motorized brush.

It is the reason why I recommend every Shark Rotator Lift-away vacuum cleaner for pet hair.

You may not have stairs at your home, but you do have sofas or couches, and to get rid of pet hair from there, the conveniences that one Shark Rotator Lift-away vacuum cleaner offers great aid.

Weight

The next thing I mentioned is the weight of the vacuum cleaner. Though the extra weight of the vacuum cleaner can be painful for long time vacuuming sessions, it is needed for reaching the pet hair properly on shag or high-piled carpets.

If you do not own such carpets, there is no need for the extra weight, but if you do, you should consider a bit heavy vacuum cleaner.

Here, the Shark NV752 propped a very wise stand. The whole vacuum cleaner weighs 15.4 lbs, whereas the machine weighs 8 lbs without the vacuum wand.

The machine can be disconnected from the wand with just a button push.

Thus, you can take advantage of a heavy vacuum cleaner with the lift-away pod attached. Or you can pop it out, leave it aside and vacuum using the lightweight 7.4 lbs vacuum cleaner—your choice.

Light

Next comes self-light emission. It is not that important. If your home has adequate lighting, this can be overlooked.

The Shark NV752 has two bright LED lights under its hood.

One is located at the front of the cleaner head; the other is located at an upper portion which is lit the way while using the hose at canister mode.

Filter

Now comes the filtration. Pet hairs are organic. When agitated, pet hairs throw allergens. Not only pet hairs, while you are generally vacuuming, tiny pieces of dust also get blown by the air and pollute the surrounding air zone.

Filters block these tiny dust particles and allergens from entering the air.

Shark NV752 has three filters. Two pre-motor filters and a post-motor filter which is a HEPA standard one.

Shark co. Claims that this vacuum cleaner has what they call – the anti-allergen complete seal.

That means the machine itself is sealed solid; that’s why tiny dust particles and allergens can’t get out of the machine before it reaches the post-motor HEPA filter.

The HEPA filter takes charge here and takes care of the rest. It absorbs all the allergens and tiny debris.

The filters are washable. You can pop out the filters anytime and rinse them for cleaning. The only thing you should ensure here is that you dry the filters completely before inserting them back into the vacuum again.

Warranty

Shark Rotator TruePet Powered Lift-Away NV752 comes with a big 7-year warranty.

Well, that escalated fast. Look how detailed the Shark NV752 is! Anyway, explaining what to look for in a pet-friendly vacuum cleaner, in short, is finished along with the Shark NV752’s mastery over these features.

Let’s move on to what additional conveniences it offers to us.

Additional Conveniences

Remember the wise standing of Shark NV752 at the argument of the vacuum cleaner’s weight? There is another argument in the world of vacuum cleaners.

That is which type of vacuum cleaner is the best among canister and upright vacuum cleaners.

This vacuum cleaner again stays out of such an argument. It is both an upright vacuum cleaner and a canister vacuum cleaner at a time.

There are three maneuvering modes of this vacuum cleaner. With everything in its’ position, that’s the upright mode. There’s a lift-away pod consisting of the dust cup, motors, etc. – in a word, the whole vacuuming machine without the wand.

You can just lift it out and place it on a shark canister caddy. The Shark NV752 is a canister vacuum cleaner now.

Furthermore, you can just place the lift-away pod anywhere and get handheld conveniences out of it just by vacuuming using its hose.

The vacuuming wand is comprised of a solid stick connected to a hose. The hose allows the lift-away pod to be detached from the wand with a lot of space for hassle-free maneuvering.

There are three modes based on the rotation of the motorized brushroll situated at the cleaner head.

  • Hardwood mode – keeps the rotation off
  • Short carpet mode – keeps the rotation speed moderate
  • High carpet mode – keeps the rotation fully powered for deep long, piled carpets.

Another great convenience is here to prevent a mishap. As long as you start it, the brushroll is supposed to turn on too, and start spinning.

What if you want to pause vacuuming a bit? If the brushroll does not stop spinning, there is a chance of an accident. If you put it onto some carpet with the brushroll spinning, it might damage your carpet.

To prevent this, this vacuum is powered by two steps. There’s a place signed with a foot on the cleaner head.

You have to put one of your feet and bend the wand a bit from the cleaner head in such a preferable position for vacuuming.

The brushroll will start to spin only then. After a short session of vacuum cleaning, put it back to its’ previous position – the brushroll will stop spinning even if the machine is still on.

The hose here can be stretched up to 8 feet, and the length of the power cord is 30 feet. Pretty long. You shouldn’t have to think about wire shortage even while vacuuming a relatively long room.

Comparing the noise with other high-powered vacuum cleaners, it creates less noise.

Let’s compare it with the Dyson DC65 again. With the brushroll off, the DC65 creates 75.3 DB, while the Shark NV752 creates 73.9 DB.

With the brushroll on, the DC65 creates 80.6 DB, while the Shark NV752 creates 78.6 DB. [Comparison between the DC59 and V6, Read here]

Thanks to our friend Russco again, who brought this detailed comparison to the light along with the next comparison.

Let’s make one last comparison that determines the great engineering made on this vacuum cleaner.

The Dyson DC65 possesses a greater suction power; it is louder than the Shark NV752, too, for the additional suction power. But whenever it comes to cleaning, the Shark performs slightly well than the Dyson.

Check the photos below that demonstrates the superiority of the Shark NV752 with just only one pass on some mixed pieces of debris.

Before cleaning:

After one pass:

Pretty impressive, huh!

Let’s see what additional attachments you’ll get with a Shark NV752.

  • Hard Floor Hero
  • TruePet Mini Motorized Brush
  • Pet Multi-Tool
  • Crevice tool

The Shark NV752 review is almost over. I know what you are wondering right now, Isn’t there any bad side to this vacuum cleaner?

Well, I had this thought, and to reveal some bad side – I went through many customer reviews. Here’s what I found –

“A bit heavy and no auto cord-rewind, no brushroll for the bare floor, and pet hairs get tangled with the brushroll pretty heftily.”

It is a bit heavy vacuum cleaner, yes, but the weight has its’ advantages. And about the auto cord rewind feature – 30 feet long wire can be pretty annoying; an auto cord rewind would be great here, but I do not like the auto cord rewind feature.

It puts direct pressure on the socket and impacts vacuum cleaners’ longevity.

Auto cord rewind puts direct pressure onto the power socket at the later end of the wire; this damages the socket over time, resulting in a disconnection between the wire and the socket.

It has no special brushroll inside it for cleaning hardwood floors. Only suction does okay, but it is very good to have a very soft brushroll dedicated to bare floor cleaning.

A special attachment called ‘Hard Floor Hero’ is available with it that partially solves the problem.

The only problem remaining is the pet hair getting stuck with the brushroll. The users have to use their hands to tear off the pet hairs from the brushroll very often. This is a universal problem for all pet owners.

But there’s nothing to worry about this issue now. The engineers of Shark CO. have invented a new technology called “Zero-M technology,” which actively removes hair wrap from brushroll.

It is a new technology, so you won’t find this feature on Shark NV752. In my opinion, clearing out hairs from brushroll is a big letdown.

This is why this innovation is needed in a vacuum cleaner for being a perfect vacuum cleaner for pet hair.

You can’t find this on the older models because this finding wasn’t available before. But it is available on the newer models.

Currently, there are two full-sized upright, and a stick vacuum is available with the Zero-M technology. They are reviewed below.

2) Shark® APEX® DuoClean® with Zero-M™ Powered Lift-Away® Upright Vacuum (AZ1002)

Shark APEX Upright Vacuum with DuoClean

First thing first, let’s know what Zero-M™ technology is. How it works, the ins and outs – everything.

The reason pet hair gets all wrapped up with the brushroll is there is nothing between the hard bristles on the brushroll. That’s why pet hairs or human hairs get stuck easily.

Here’s what the Zero-M technology does. It actively blocks all paths among the hard bristles. There are spikes on the upper wall to block the paths vertically.

And there are hard cloths placed between bristle rows to block the paths horizontally. With some extra rotation of the brushroll, hairs get unwrapped all by themselves.

You’ll still need to put hairs out from the brushroll. But you won’t need a scissor, and the work won’t be arduous as before. It’ll be nothing compared to the hard work required before.

Let’s get straight into the Shark® APEX® DuoClean® with Zero-M™ Powered Lift-Away® Upright Vacuum.

This is the flagship model of Shark vacuum cleaners from Zero-M standups. With the help of the Zero-M technology, this vacuum cleaner tops the Shark NV752 in every aspect. Let’s see how –

Suction power

The motor backing power is 1350 wattage here, while it was 1200 on the Shark NV752.

The NV752’s suction power is already massive, and nobody just cannot complain about the Shark NV752’s suction power.

I have not received one single person complaining about the suction power of the Shark NV752.

In Shark® APEX® DuoClean® with Zero-M™ Powered Lift-Away® Upright Vacuum, the suction power is even more than the Shark NV752.

They apprised before that this is a flagship model from the shark. They exceed themselves here in all aspects.

Brushroll

Like the Shark NV752, this one also has a hard bristled brush inside its cleaner head. Same old performance for pet hair, but this time the hairs won’t be stuck into the brushroll like before.

All the lackings that Shark NV752 have been recovered here. Remember the Shark NV752 had no dedicated brushroll for the bare floor? That is solved here.

To solve this issue, there is another technology invented by Shark Co. It is not a new invention from Shark; you might have heard of this before. It is called DuoClean.

It is an accumulation of two brushrolls placed in the cleaner head.

The one placed at the front is for bare floors; after that – the traditional hard bristle brushroll is placed wisely.

It helps the vacuum cleaner to perform better on bare floors. Moreover, the main reason we are here – pet hairs; also get sucked better with the aid of the two brush rolls from the carpet.

Mainly the hard-bristled brushroll does the job. But the soft brushroll helps loose hair insert into the cleaner head, setting aside the improvement it offers for bare floors.

Brushrolls are motorized here, too, just to let you know.

Upholstery pet hair solution

For upholstery pet hair solutions, like the Shark NV752, you still get a Deep-Cleaning Motorized Pet Tool for more efficiency on sofas or couches along with carpeted stairs.

You also get a pet-multi-Tool for light pet hair solutions like bare floor stairs. These conveniences make this the best shark vacuum cleaner for pet hair.

Weight

It is a tad more lightweight than the Shark NV752, 16 lbs. This little reduction in weight has significance.

Some complaints about the Shark NV752 are that whenever vacuuming, a bit of pressure is put directly on the wrist.

The manufacturers tried to solve that by reducing the weight around the handle.

Light

Like the Shark NV752, LED lights on both the handle and the floor nozzle are available here too.

Filter

Like the Shark NV752, an Advanced Anti-Allergen seal and HEPA filter are available.

Bin capacity

Like the NV752, bin capacity is 1.5 quarts

Warranty

Shark® APEX® DuoClean® with Zero-M™ Powered Lift-Away® Upright Vacuum (AZ1002) has a 5-year warranty

Additional conveniences:

It is also a lift-away vacuum cleaner. You can lift the canister by pressing a button.

The noise is a bit reduced here. The noise is specially taken care of here

Like the Shark NV752, swivel steering is also available here.

Let’s know the available additional accessories here,

  • A 12” crevice tool
  • Pet Multi-Tool
  • Deep-Cleaning Motorized Pet Tool

Unlike the Shark NV752, no complaint about the weight was received. Some even recommended it for senior citizens for its convenience.

Some complain about still getting their hands dirty by removing hairs from the brushroll. The Zero-M is a mechanical concept.

You have to keep vacuuming some more, go ahead and clean some more along with allowing the Zero-M some more time. With time and with the brushroll spinning, the Zero-M cleaning head clears the cleaner head of hairs.

3) Shark Navigator® Zero-M™ Lift-Away Speed™ Upright Vacuum (ZU561)

This is a cheaper version of Shark® APEX® DuoClean® with Zero-M™ Powered Lift-Away® Upright Vacuum (AZ1002). By removing some features, the price is reduced a lot here.

Shark Navigator Upright Vacuum with Lift-Away

Suction power

Being corded and a full-sized vacuum cleaner – I think this vacuum cleaner could do a bit better with its’ suction power.

The wattage is a bit low here. It is listed as 800 wattages, while the Shark NV752 possesses 1200 wattages.

However, there is a reason for implying low power on the motor side. It’s because it is a new model equipped with the Zero-M technology.

They wanted to make the vacuum price minimal so that people could get their hands on it more easily and check their new innovations.

Anyway, it still has strong suction power, and it’ll do great on the high-pile carpet; you are just not getting the best. You will have to go back and forth a bit more while vacuuming.

Brushroll

Like the previous one, it does not have a DuoClean floor nozzle. It was just filled with Zero-M technology. That means it has only one brush roll under its’ hood. The brushroll has a hard bristle brush, though.

I will do well picking up pet hair from your high-piled carpet. You might have to maneuver some more.

The brushroll is motorized.

Upholstery pet hair solution

For upholstery pet hair solution, you won’t get a Deep-Cleaning Motorized Pet Tool. Only a pet Multi-Tool. It’ll do okay for pet hairs.

However, you can purchase a Deep-Cleaning Motorized pet tool later. You can buy it separately.

Weight

The weight is very much reduced hare. It weighs 13.4 lbs

Light

You won’t get LED lights here.

Filter

Like Shark® APEX® DuoClean® with Zero-M™ Powered Lift-Away® Upright Vacuum (AZ1002), Advanced Anti-Allergen seal and HEPA filter are available.

Bin Capacity

Bin capacity is big here, 2.2 quarts, while it was 1.5 on the previously described ones. You can conduct a whole lot of cleaning at a time.

Warranty

The Shark Navigator® Zero-M™ Lift-Away Speed™ Upright Vacuum (ZU561) is backed with a solid 5-year warranty.

Additional conveniences:

It is a lift-away vacuum cleaner too. You can lift the canister by pressing a button.

Its reduced motor power is responsible for good convenience. It creates much less noise. If you do not own high-piled carpets and do not like noise – this is the one for you.

Like the Shark® APEX® DuoClean® with Zero-M™ Powered Lift-Away® Upright Vacuum (AZ1002), swivel steering is also available here.

Let’s know the available additional accessories here,

  • A 12” crevice tool
  • Pet Multi-Tool
  • Wide Upholstery Tool

4) Shark® Rocket® Zero-M™ Ultra-Light Corded Stick Vacuum (ZS351)

Though there are some positive sides to weighty vacuum cleaners, weight is a very big issue if you cannot handle heavy vacuum cleaners must. I mean, where’s the point if you cannot use the vacuum cleaner properly?

This very lightweight vacuum cleaner is for them, and it comes with Zero-M technology.

Shark Rocket Corded Ultra-Light Vacuum with Zero-M

Suction power

As a stick vacuum cleaner, it cannot be compared with the previously demonstrated Shark vacuum cleaners.

All of them are full-sized upright vacuum cleaners with massive suction power. We will compare it with other stick vacuum cleaners, and in terms of that, It did a pretty good job, I say.

Brushroll

It does not contain a DuoClean floor nozzle—only Zero-M technology. Only a hard-bristled brushroll will do all the cleaning.

Here’s one small problem, and that is it does not have a bare floor cleaning mode. That means there is no way that you can stop spinning the hard-bristled brushroll.

Normal hardwood and bare floors can handle the teasing that comes from it. But if you own an ultra-sensitive solid floor surface, this might not be for you.

The brushroll is motorized.

Upholstery pet hair solution

For upholstery pet hair solution, you won’t get a Deep-Cleaning Motorized Pet Tool or a pet Multi-Tool.

Weight

This is the main reason we are here, the lightweight. This vacuum cleaner weighs very low. It weighs only 9.3 lbs.

Light

Like the Shark® APEX® DuoClean® with Zero-M™ Powered Lift-Away® Upright Vacuum (AZ1002), it has two lights.

One locater is at the cleaner head, and another is near the handheld portion’s handle.

Filter

There are no official pieces of information from the shark co. About filters here. I am assuming the filters here are not HEPA standard.

Bin Capacity

Bin capacity is .74 quarts, while it was 1.5 on the previously described ones. Now here’s another great thing about this vacuum cleaner.

Being a stick vacuum cleaner, the bin capacity is very big. Usual stick and cordless vacuum cleaners have .2-.5 quarts.

Warranty

Shark® Rocket® Zero-M™ Ultra-Light Corded Stick Vacuum (ZS351) has a 5-year warranty.

Additional conveniences:

There are not that many additional conveniences. Actually, in some aspects, I think there are disappointments. There is no bare floor mode; filters are not HEPA.

There are lights; swivel steering is also available. And it has a big dirt cup – these are the pros of this lightweight vacuum cleaner.

Available attachments,

  • A bare floor tool for bare floor cleaning
  • Dusting brush

If you want a stick vacuum cleaner that separates hairs from the brushroll itself, a big dust cup compared to other stick vacuum cleaners, and a very long cord, this is the one for you.

But if weight is not an issue for you, you can get a lot better deal for yourself within this price. This is a good but overpriced vacuum cleaner.

5) Shark® Rotator® Powered Lift-Away® XL Capacity (UV795)

While we are on the track of XL capacity dust cup enriched vacuum cleaners, why not take a  peek over a great shark vacuum cleaner for pet hair with a very, very big dust cup?

It is Shark® Rotator® Powered Lift-Away® XL Capacity (UV795)

Shark UV7965 Vacuum Cleaner

Suction power

The suction power is the same as what a Shark NV752 has. Same old suction power with a big dust cup.

Brushroll

You can tell it is another version of the Shark NV752. The same type of brushroll has been used here. It is a hard-bristled brushroll.

And the brushroll is also motorized.

Upholstery pet hair solution

For upholstery pet solutions, the TruePet deep-cleaning mini motorized brush and pet upholstery tool will be provided in the box.

You know the TruePet deep-cleaning mini motorized brush and how it is great for pet hair.

Weight

It is the heaviest shark vacuum cleaner on the list. It has the biggest dust cup, and this increases its weight.

It weighs 17 lbs

Light

There are LED lights at the floor nozzle

Filter

Like the Shark NV752, it also provides an anti-allergen complete seal that meets the HEPA standard.

Bin capacity

It has a big 3.57 quarts dust bin.

Warranty

Like the Shark NV752, it is also backed by a 7-year warranty.

Additional Conveniences

You have known the most appealing additional convenience of the Shark® Rotator® Powered Lift-Away® XL Capacity (UV795) already. It is a very big dust cup.

The next convenience relates to the recently told feature – a big dust cup.

The big dust cup does make the vacuum cleaner bulky. Then how will it fit under furniture?

It is also a Lift-Away vacuum cleaner; you can lift the canister anytime and let the wand sneak under the pieces of furniture.

Though extra weight helps to reach deeper into high-piled carpets and let the vacuum hold a bigger dust cup, it is tough to conduct a long vacuuming session with a heavy vacuum cleaner.

To ease you in this matter, a canister caddy will be provided. You can lift the canister and set it onto the movable canister caddy and use it as a regular canister vacuum cleaner.

Like the Shark NV752, it also has three vacuuming modes – Bare floor, low-piled carpet, and High-piled carpet.

Available attachments,

  • TruePet deep-cleaning motorized dust brush
  • Pet upholstery tool
  • Duster crevice tool
  • Canister caddy
  • And an accessory bag to put the attachments together.

If we really want to excavate the bad side here, I’d say the weight – but the canister caddy has already solved the problem.

You can say it not having a dedicated brushroll for bare floors. It is not a duo-clean vacuum cleaner.

It does not have a Zero-M floor nozzle, either. You will have to cat hair wraps from your brushroll often.

6) Shark IONFlex 2X DuoClean Cordless Ultra-Light Vacuum (IF251)

Let’s welcome a cordless one. Wires can be annoying. I am not blaming you if you do not like wires and are looking for a cordless solution for pet hairs.

But you have to put one thing in mind; you will not get massive suction power like the corded one. And runtime is another issue that you’ll have to descry very carefully.

Shark IONFlex 2x review

Suction power

Compared to the Shark NV752, suction power is more than half of what Shark NV752 possesses. But that is in extended mode.

The Shark IONFlex 2X DuoClean Cordless Ultra-Light Vacuum (IF251) has two running modes. Max power and extended mode.

With the max power mode, you will get approximately .5 multiple of regular suction power with the sacrifice of battery life.

Brushroll

It is a Shark DuoClean vacuuming machine. The hard-bristled brushroll is also there, like the Shark® APEX® DuoClean® with Zero-M™ Powered Lift-Away® Upright Vacuum (AZ1002), with the soft brushroll at the front.

Same good performance on both carpet and hardwood floors.

Weight

Usually, cordless vacuum cleaners weigh less. It is not devoid of that statement. It is a very lightweight vacuum cleaner weighing only 8.7 lbs.

Filter

Filters are not capable of giving what we call HEPA filtration. But that is only by paper.

While a Hepa filter can block 99.9% of dust and allergens, shark ion flex 2x’s filter blocks 99.8% of dust and allergens.

Bin capacity

Usually, cordless vacuum cleaners have smaller dust cups. It is not devoid of that statement. The bin capacity here is .3 quarts.

Warranty

The vacuum cleaner is covered by a 5-year warranty, while the battery is backed by a 2-year warranty.

Battery

Since it is a cordless vacuum cleaner, let’s share a word about the battery.

Here is the runtime of a shark Ion flex 2x vacuum cleaner,

  • Without the floor nozzle: 11 minutes in max, 23 minutes in extended runtime mode
  • Floor mode: 12 minutes in max power, 20 minutes on extended runtime
  • Carpet mode: 11 minutes in max power, 14 minutes on extended runtime

Now a very interesting matter – there will be inconveniences. People have different needs, and one product can never fulfill everyone’s necessities.

In this case, cordless vacuum cleaners are for those who dislike wires. But battery life is a fact here, and you can never get the peace of mind a corded vacuum would give you.

A very good thing about the manufacturer company shark is that they adopt thoughtful approaches to reduce the problem as much as they can.

Here, they provide an extra battery to double the runtime. You can just swap another pre-charged battery with the recently depleted one you are good to go again.

Additional conveniences

It has Multiflex technology within it. That means the wand is flexible at the upper mid-portion of the vacuum cleaner. It helps you to clean under furniture and appliances without bending yourself.

Available attachments

  • Duster crevice tool
  • Wide upholstery tool
  • Anti-allergen dust brush (this is good)

The complaint I constantly hear of this vacuum is it feels like it is a self-propelled vacuum cleaner.

That means while vacuuming, when you push the vacuum cleaner forward – you will feel like it is going by itself.

And you will have to put in some extra energy while pulling it back. People tend to get accustomed to it in time though

The reason for this is – a relatively powerful motor is implemented, and the vacuum cleaner is very lightweight.

7) Shark® Cordless Pet Perfect™ II Handheld Vacuum (SV780)

As promised, now it’s time to review a handheld vacuum cleaner. It is Shark® Cordless Pet Perfect™ II Handheld Vacuum (SV780).

It is the top from Shark handheld SV series vacuum cleaners. Most powerful in this line-up.

It is a very lightweight yet powerful cordless handheld vacuum cleaner. A good solution for quick cleaning the places where a full-size vacuum cleaner cannot.

Suction power

As a handheld vacuum cleaner, the suction power of the Shark® Cordless Pet Perfect™ II Handheld Vacuum (SV780) is strong, very strong.

Handheld vacuum cleaners tend to occupy less suction power theoretically as a small machine powered by a battery.

It just cannot get the space to produce energy. Battery level is also a concern, as more suction power means less battery life.

Shark co. has applied an innovative mechanism to get the most out of it. They name it Twister Cyclonic Technology.

Within a very short space, the air is sucked using a cyclonic pattern. The air circles adjacent to the wall of the vacuum chamber and thus travels the longest path in this chamber.

Thus the suction power reaches its top as much as possible.

Brushroll

Compared to other regular handheld vacuum cleaners, you will get a large brushroll with the purchase of Shark® Cordless Pet Perfect™ II Handheld Vacuum (SV780).

Large brushroll means wide place covering, which means less maneuvering.

The brushroll is motorized and will do great while picking up pet hairs.

Weight

With the XL-sized motorized brushroll attached, it weighs only 4.92 lbs, and the weight of the handheld vacuum only without the brushroll attached is counted as approximately 4.25 lbs.

Light

LED lights are available for a better view while cleaning.

Battery

It is powered by an 18-volt nickel-cadmium (Ni-MH) battery. For its powerful suction capability, the battery life is a bit reduced, though.

Some complaints about battery life. But I never heard a single complaint of having less suction. It has a runtime of 10-minutes, which is comparatively low.

Warranty

It comes with a -2-year warranty

Additional Conveniences

The charging dock of this specific machine is a beauty. You can put everything in place so organized while LED lights indicate the current charging status.

Battery life is low

Other than this, it has no negative view. However, in my opinion – getting better suction power is better than getting long runtime. It’d be great if we could get strong suction power along with a long battery backup.

But the reality is these are small-sized handheld vacuum cleaners with limited capabilities.

These are for quick use, not for use for an extended period. Longer battery life means less suction power, which means cleaning the same old places and consuming much time using the extra battery life.

You could get at most 3-5 minutes of extra runtime, but to achieve this, the suction power will be lessened, and you will have to clean a place, moving the vacuum back and forth more and more.

Still haven’t got the desired shark pet-friendly vacuum cleaner?

To enable you to find your Shark vacuum cleaner according to your preference, here’s a guideline on how to reveal the strong zone of a Shark vacuum cleaner by its name.

Navigator: The term “Navigator” expresses that the vacuum cleaner can go anywhere. These are Lift-away vacuum cleaners.

Two great resources to read,

Lift-Away: It means you can separate the canister from the vacuum wand; this lets the cleaner be free from its previous bulky structure. Now it can vacuum under low furniture.

TruePet and Pet perfect: TruePet denotes full-sized upright vacuum cleaners specially made for pet hairs. Pet perfect denotes handheld lightweight vacuum cleaners made especially for pet hair.

Rotator: The term ‘rotator’ was first introduced to tell you that the vacuum cleaner had a motorized brushroll when motorized brushrolls were rare.

Anyway, you do not have to look out for this term now. Most vacuum cleaners have motorized brushroll in the floor nozzle nowadays.

Powered: These vacuum cleaners have very strong suction power.

DuoClean: It means there are two brushrolls inside the vacuum head. One is a soft brushroll dedicated to bare floor cleaning, and the other is a regular hard-bristled brushroll that does great sucking dirt from carpets.
